Alex Perry - Multi level apartment tower

St Stephen's Hospital

Hervey Bay, Queensland.

Builder: Cockram Constructions

Project details: Expansion of an 8-bed acute care day facility to a 96-bed acute care hospital with five operating theatres, six oncology bays, isolation bays and dialysis bays, as well as training for nursing students and allied health placements. As Australia’s first fully digital hospital, the $90 million (construction and e-health) project is a significant development for the Fraser Coast region providing a number of economic benefits and an improved range of medical services for the community.

Centre for Advanced Imaging

University of Queensland.

    Builder: Cockram Constructions

    Project details: The Centre for Advanced Imaging is a highly advanced medical imaging facility which includes a cyclotron unit, used to generate radioactive isotopes for medical imaging equipment. The new structure is built on the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus, and also includes several magnetic resonance imaging units, a full floor of PC2 laboratories, associated teaching and academic spaces and related facilities.

    It is the only facility of its type in Australia, one of only a handful in the world and once completed will house a powerful MRI system that is more than twice as strong as any other MRI system currently available in the Southern Hemisphere.The project includes the extensive refurbishment of the adjoining Gehrmann Building and also the chillers on the nearby Ritchie Building.

    This highly advanced project requires specialist construction skills, given the very high operational standards required for cyclotrons and MRI installations. Cockram Construction’s prior experience with cyclotron and advanced medical imaging projects, plus thier commitment to deliver a highly skilled project team, were instrumental in reinforcing thier reputation as one of a small number of contractors capable of delivering a project of this nature.

Our commercial hardware team worked with Cockram Constructions to supply this technical and often challenging project with the door hardware requirements, this project was fitted out with Assa Abloy, Lockwood products.

Aldi Distribution Center Brendale

Brendale Queensland.

    Builder: Cockram Constructions

    Project details: In December 2013, the Queensland division of Cockram were awarded the Construction Contract for the new ALDI Distribution Centre in Brendale, Queensland. The was delivered as a Design and Construct contract. The facility was constructed as part of the Brendale Connect Industrial Development, on the site of a former CSR brickworks, around 18 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. The project incorporates the design and construction of a 49,000m² warehouse and office, ambient warehouse and coolhouse facilities, along with associated civil and landscaping works.

Our commercial hardware team worked with Cockram Constructions, this project was fitted out with Assa Abloy, Lockwood products and Bobrick sundry hardware.

Hotel Grand Chancellor

23 Leichhardt St, Brisbane QLD.

    Builder: Rohrig Constructions

    Project details: The Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane has teamed up with construction company Rohrig, to build the Cottee Parker designed function centre. Which is now one of Brisbane’s largest and most innovative hotel-based conference facilities. The facility features 11 function rooms over two levels making use of the area’s natural lighting, offering a new and unique hotel-based conference option in the city. It has the capacity to have a 500 person sit down gala dinner in the ballroom, while easily possessing the ability to hold another 350 person dinner in the ground floor conference rooms.

    The existing Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane has also undergone a make-over to complement the new facility, including the expansion of the lobby and the addition of 36 rooms. The 4.5-star hotel provides 194 guest rooms and is located opposite the Roma Street Parklands.

Chelsea Apartments

    Project details: The Chelsea apartments was one of the first apartment blocks to be constructed in the new urban residential centre of Bowen Hills. 14 levels and over 100 apartments

Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre

Mt Ommaney, Brisbane.

    Builder: Laing O'Rourke Constructions

    Project details: Located 10 km from Brisbane CBD, the Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre is predominantly a discount department store complex with major tenancies including Coles, Big W, Woolworths and Kmart. Laing O'Rourke undertook a major redevelopment of the centre, completely reconfiguring its interior and car parks and adding 17,770 m2 of gross lettable floor area.
