Bretts WheelHouse

Building a Tiny House on Wheels is a Complex Process.

While it’s pretty easy to get inspired to join the tiny house movement (trust us, we’ve watched Tiny House Hunters too), the actual building process isn’t so simple. But don’t worry – our tiny house builders in Brisbane are here to help!

Why a tiny home building project
is worth it.

Tiny homes are the perfect housing solution for a lot of people. They're affordable, eco-friendly, and can provide a high level of comfort and convenience. Here’s a few reasons why you should build a tiny house:

  1. One of the great things about tiny homes is that they can be used for a variety of purposes. For example, tiny homes can be used as: granny flats to provide extra space and privacy for elderly relatives, AirBnB properties to help you get a little extra income, or even a home studio or office.
  2. Another big benefit of tiny homes is that they can help you achieve financial freedom. Because they're so affordable to build and maintain, owning a tiny home means you'll have more disposable income each month. This can allow you to save up for other important things in your life.
  3. Tiny homes are also much more eco-friendly than traditional houses. They use less energy to heat and cool, and they often incorporate sustainable materials like solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems. Plus, tiny homes are incredibly convenient. They're easy to move around if you need to, and everything is within reach so you don't have to waste time searching for things.

How we Build a Tiny House.

Our tiny home builders are experts at creating tiny houses on wheels that you’ll love. When you choose our professional team, you can be confident that we’ll use only the best available materials and construction techniques, to build you a tiny home that lasts. For each tiny home we build, we follow the same steps and stages, which has enabled us to perfect our process over the years.

  Design

To create an amazing tiny house you need to have a solid design and plan before you start your build.

Due to the small space you are limited to, you want to make sure your design makes the most of your floor space and will provide plenty of storage options. Our tiny house builders follow three design options, however, during this stage, we also allow our clients to customise the design brief for any special inclusions or modifications they would like to include.

Building a Tiny House, design stage

  Frame

During the frame stage of the tiny house building process, a Bretts tiny home builder will complete:

the internal and external support structure, the walls, insulation, and the conduit for any electrical and plumbing work.

Building a Tiny House, lock-up stage

  Lock-up

The lockup shell stage is when the main construction of any tiny houses is complete.

Essentially, it is when you are able to ‘lock up’ the whole house. During this stage, a Bretts tiny house builder will finish the windows and doors, and any remaining walls be installed.

Building a Tiny House, lock-up stage

  Fit-out

This is an important stage for the liveability and aesthetics of your tiny home.

During this stage our tiny home builders will complete the plumbing, electrical, fixtures, fittings, and any additional or customised design features or modifications (e.g. solar panels). This is the final stage of the tiny home building process.
