This role is not for an order-taker but requires you to identify and qualify leads, then educate prospective clients by presenting Bretts and all the products we sell. The position is underpinned by your ability to create and grow profitable relationships.

The role will involve these metrics

  • Defined and managed customer list
  • Grow sales from a combination of new and existing clients
  • Maintain a combination of face to face and electronic contact, engaging with customers using a managed contact cycle
  • Work with store managers to promote products and services which best showcases Bretts strengths
  • Sell across all Bretts categories, look for gaps in purchasing patterns and devise a tailored strategy to fill these gaps
  • Ensure your customers are always up-to-date with new products and services we offer
  • Value adding
  • Achieve KPI’s and targets

KPI’s will be clearly identified, complete with milestones and a timeline to achieve them. Although the expectation will be that you will have self-fulfilling motivation to seek out training and improvement during your journey, guidance and coaching will be provided to help achieve success. The KPI’s will be reviewed at six month intervals. Remuneration commensurate with experience and tools of the trade will be provided.

Frame & Truss Manager

Our Frame & Truss factory needs a person with experience on their side to manage the day to day operations of our timber and steel Frame & Truss divisions at Geebung.

About the role

The Frame & Truss Manager will be there to ensure delivery and quality targets are meet while also ensuring productivity is maximized by driving change through processes and procedures. Your ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers as well as your experience managing staff will set you apart in this dynamic role.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee daily running of the business including liaising with production, estimating and detailing teams
  • Stock control and machine maintenance
  • Provide a high level of customer service for both current and new customers
  • Technical support where required
  • Quoting as required
  • Problem solve issues where required

About you

To succeed you will have experience as a Production Manager or supervisor who can oversee the detailing and production teams and general day to day running of the steel and timber business. You must have a positive attitude and want to work with customers and your team as well as:

  • Sound knowledge of roof truss and wall frame or general production environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated to achieve task in a timely manner
  • Good people person, enjoy staff and customer contact
  • Positive leader
  • Pryda or Scottsdale knowledge would be beneficial not essential
  • Good computer skills

Commercial hardware consultant

Bretts have been supplying Queensland builders since 1918 and Commercial Door Hardware since 1945. We are looking to expand our architectural hardware business and need new team members who are passionate about sales. The role involves working with others in our commercial team providing the best solution possible for commercial builder, shopfitter and fabricator customers.

About the role

The job is centrally located in Albion and it offers a great potential to learn and grow. We will accept applicants with no or limited experience with Architectural Hardware, however strong sales experience would be a definite advantage. We are happy to train you into the role as long as you can demonstrate you have excellent sales skills.

Key accountabilities

  • Managing the supply of Architectural door hardware and washroom products
  • Purchasing materials against customer orders and processing sales orders
  • Ensuring orders are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Quoting the customers requirement
  • Offering customers the right solutions
  • Identifying new leads and converting these into regular customers
  • Helping customers when they call into the store

Locksmithing has been an important part of this since 1945, which makes Bretts one of the longest standing Locksmith businesses in the greater Brisbane region.

As a Locksmith Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting the future growth of our Locksmith business.

Responsibilities include

  • On-the-job learning alongside our qualified senior Locksmiths
  • Assist in all aspects of workshop operations and sales
  • Continue TAFE training in accordance with your trade qualification requirements
  • Always maintain a curious and open attitude towards learning and improvements.
